Compact iPhone 5se/ 6c Could Have The Same Apple A9 Chip As The iPhone 6s/ 6s Plus
Compact iPhone 5se/ 6c Could Have The Same Apple A9 Chip As The iPhone 6s/ 6s Plus -
The much rumored iPhone 5se or iPhone 6c, whatever it may be called,
will reportedly pack the same Apple A9 chip as the current iPhone 6s and
iPhone 6s Plus flagships.
Not much solid information is available regarding Apple's upcoming
4-inch iPhone, but the rumor mill is always busy churning in
anticipation. The iPhone 5se/iPhone 6c is widely expected to debut on March 15,
alongside an iPad Air 3, and go on sale on March 18. More details now
reach the surface, aiming to paint a clearer picture of what to expect.
While some previous rumors suggested that the compact iPhone
5se/iPhone 6c could pack an Apple A8 processor with an M8 motion
co-processor, new information now points to a more powerful A9+M9 combo.
If this turns out to be accurate, it means that Apple's upcoming
4-inch iPhone will not compromise performance despite its small size.
Apple took a long time to move to larger screen sizes for its
iPhones, and its shift to 4.7- and 5.5-inch displays was widely seen as a
positive change. However, many fans still yearn for that compact iPhone
size they were accustomed to, and Apple wants to bring it back.
A new report from Bloomberg now reveals that
the upcoming 4-inch iPhone will boast the CPU combo of the current
iPhone 6s/ 6s Plus because Apple wants to offer a solid performance.
Launching a small iPhone that feels outdated and weak could deal a
major blow to its sales, but a powerful iPhone 5se/ iPhone 6c could bring in $5.5 billion for Apple.
At the same time, the smaller iPhone would still differentiate itself
from the upcoming flagships. While it will be powerful enough with an
A9+M9 combo, it would still lag behind the upcoming iPhone 7 powerhouse
that should pack a new Apple A10 processor. This means that Apple would
still have a clear distinction between its top-end models and the
smaller iPhone, but without sacrificing too much.
It's all still in the rumor state for now, however, as Apple made no
official comment regarding its plans for future products. It remains to
be seen whether this 4-inch iPhone will launch as the iPhone 5se or the
iPhone 6c, but more information should become available shortly.
If the March unveiling turns out to be accurate, we'll soon know all
there is to know about the compact iPhone soon enough. We'll keep you up
to date as soon as we learn more, so stay tuned. Source: Techtimes
