Apple Chip Suppliers Getting Ready For iPhone 7 Production
Apple Chip Suppliers Getting Ready For iPhone 7 Production - Apple’s major supply chain partners are said to be gearing up capacity and production for Apple’s iPhone 7, which will come out during the Fall. The source noted that they spoke with Cirrus Logic and Analog Devices, who are getting ready to spend their operation time working on Apple’s iPhone 7.
According to DigiTimes, TSMC is said to build most of all the A10 processors for the iPhone 7. The source also noted that TSMC will start volume production of 16-nanometer FinFET process chips in the second quarter of this year.
DigiTimes also reported that parts from Cirrus Logic and Analog Devices will play a big part in allowing the iPhone 7 to be even thinner than the current iPhone 6s build.
Furthermore, Analog Devices will provide the dual lens camera system for the iPhone 7, which will include optical images stabilization (OIS) and zoom for greater pictures. The dual lens are rumored to be an iPhone 7 Plus exclusive feature, and not a feature on the standard 4.7-inch model.
Aside from the device being thinner with no 3.5mm headphone jack, the iPhone 7 will also lose the camera bump found on the iPhone 6 and 6s models. This will also be accompanied by the partial removal of the ugly antenna lines. The company is reported to get rid of most of the lines by adding in a new chassis that uses better materials.
Lastly, the iPhone 7 is expected to debut during an event in the Fall, and will sport more RAM, and is rumored to do away with the 16GB tier with a 32GB version.Source: iPhoneinformer
