LG V10 vs. Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus – Their Biggest Advantage
LG V10 vs. Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus – Their Biggest Advantage - The smartphone market has changed a lot in the past years and the
manufacturers have tried different experiments, in order to be ahead of
the competition and to improve their reputation. Everytime Samsung has
come up with a new idea, it was embraced by its fans, so the first Note
Edge phablet was the first device with a curved screen on one side, but
the company has released the Galaxy S6 Edge with a screen curved on both
sides.
Later, the larger version of it came and it had the same
specifications. The V10 is bigger than the LG G4, it has the same
processor and cameras, but the screen has a secondary one which shows
personalized information. So, which phone do you choose?
Designs and Displays
The Galaxy S6 Edge looks like a larger Galaxy S6, but
with a dual-edge display. So, it has a similar glass back (Gorilla Glass
4) available in colors such as Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum, Silver
Titan and White Pearl, the frame is made of metal and curved around the
screen. The phablet looks very elegant, it’s slim (6.9mm) and it weights
153 grams. Its screen is very large, having a diagonal of 5.7-inch and
unlike the Galaxy Note 4, it doesn’t have a stylus which can be used to
draw or take notes. The resolution is also QHD, resulting in a pixel
density of 518ppi.
The V10 has a polycarbonate body with a stainless steel frame, so it
looks cheaper and robust, especially because it’s thicker at 8.6mm.
However, it’s much heavier at 192grams and the screen, which is an IPS
LCD, supports a pixel density of 515ppi. But what is fascinating about
this smartphone is the secondary screen of 2.1-inch, which supports 160 x
1040 pixels and sits on top of the main screen. While the sides of the
Galaxy S6 Edge Plus’ screen can trigger certain functions, or quick
access to the most used five applications, the secondary screen of the
V10 shows shortcuts to your favorite applications, the time and date,
weather etc.
Hardware
The V10 is more powerful than the LG G4, because although devices
have a Snapdragon 808 hexa core processor clocked at 1.82GHz, this new
phablet supports 4GB of RAM. The device can’t outperform the S6 Edge
Plus, which features an Exynos 7420 octa core processor clocked at
2.1GHz, and which is also backed by 4GB of RAM. The Samsung smartphone
has fewer overheating problems and the applications never crash.
Another advantage of the V10 is the addition of a microSD card slot,
which allows you to expand the internal memory from 64GB up to 200GB.
The S6 Edge Plus has fixed internal storage and there are two variants
of 32GB and 64GB.
Cameras
If we’re talking about their resolutions, both phones have cameras of
16MP and 5MP respectively, but their features make the difference. The
V10 supports an aperture of f/1.8, allowing you to change the ISO,
adjust the white balance etc., but it also has features such as OIS, LED
flash, 1/2.6′ sensor size and 4K video capture. The front camera is
actually a combination of two cameras with a resolution of 5MP, which
take selfies with different focal widths. The first camera has a focal
width of 120 degrees, while the other supports 80 degrees. The Galaxy S6
Edge Plus has an aperture of f/1.9 for its Sony IMX240 sensor, and it
supports OIS, LED flash and autofocus, plus other features such as RAW
support, slow motion, fast motion, auto HDR and selective focus. But you
can also stream live videos.
Batteries
Both phones have batteries with a capacity of 3000mAh, but the Galaxy
phablet managed to squeeze more hours of usage and in the AnTuTu
benchmark tests it obtained a score of 6,659, compared to V10’s 6,366
points. Also, the battery of the S6 Edge Plus can be charged up to 100
percent in one hours and 20 minutes. Source: Neurogadget
