Line’s New “Keep” Feature Lets You Store 1GB Of Content - One of the great things about smartphones these days is the collective of options that users have to keep in contact with friends and family.

Beyond text messaging and voice calls, there are tons of available apps for instant messaging, and one of the largest options out there is Line which not only lets you send messages back and forth, but it also includes free voice and video calls to other Line users, and has tons of fun stickers and emojis to use. Line has also recently introduced its latest app update which brings in the new ability to store anything from you chats in Line called Keep.

With Line’s new Keep feature, any memos, chats, and voice messages can all be saved in the Line app for later use or for simply a way to look back on fond memories. Line is also boasting Keep as a means for saving time, as the function allows users to access any saved content again quickly without having to scroll and search too much like before.

Since saved content is kept within the Line app, nothing is stored on the device which means users aren’t using up internal or external storage space, which is something that not all users have a lot of.

Line highlights that any information saved using the app’s Keep functionality stays private and hidden from any other users in the chat. This way other chat members that users converse with are not aware of the content people save.

Alongside saving photos from Line to your device, the new Keep function also lets you upload images to Line to store with everything else. Line also states that any information saved with Keep transfers over to new devices easily since it’s tied to your Line account and stored in the cloud.

There are a couple of caveats to keep in mind though for anyone using Keep, and that has to do with storage limits. Keep only allows files saved to be stored for a 30 day period if they’re over 50MB in file size. Anything under that however, is fine to be stored indefinitely, and users can store up to 1GB of content.

Using Keep is simple too, as all users need to do is long press on any content they want to store. The new Keep function is live as of now, and Line is a free app you can access from the Play Store if you haven’t tried it out yet.  Source: TechnoMeda
